Centiniele is designed as both a functional book support and a small stone object. Its compact body has the presence of an ancient fragment — heavy, grounded, and marked by the natural texture of the rock. The carved openings and stepped base create shadow and rhythm while giving the piece a quiet architectural quality.
Each bookend is hand-cut from volcanic rock. Chips, cracks, pores, irregular edges, tonal shifts, and surface markings are expected and are part of the material’s character. These details are not considered defects; they give the object its sense of age, weight, and life.
