Clay Shield

A hand-shaped clay object with a shield-like silhouette and a warm beeswax finish.

Clay Shield is formed with a wide, protective upper body and a narrow base, giving the piece the presence of a small architectural relic. Its surface is finished with beeswax using a dry application, creating a soft sheen while preserving the natural texture of the clay.

Designed as a sculptural object, it can also hold dried flowers, branches, or grasses. Its shape feels both ancient and domestic — a vessel-like form meant for quiet display.

Material & Use Note

Each clay object is handmade and fired in an outdoor oven. Small cracks, color variation, burn marks, ash residue, and surface irregularities may naturally occur during the firing process.

Because fire and wind can make one side of the oven hotter than another, tonal shifts and darker marks are expected. Small traces on the surface may come from ash, wood, or plant material touching the piece during firing.

These details are not considered defects. They are part of the life of the object and the process by which it is made.

Dry use only. Do not fill with water or liquids. Suitable for dried flowers, branches, grasses, or decorative use.

Care

Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. Do not wash, soak, or use abrasive cleaners. Avoid direct impact, prolonged moisture, and sudden temperature changes.
