Cortado

A small hand-shaped clay cup with a paneled form and warm beeswax finish.

The Cortado Cup is designed for small drinks — espresso, cortado, mezcal, tea, or any quiet daily ritual. Its faceted sides give the piece a subtle architectural rhythm, while the beeswax finish brings a soft sheen and warmth to the clay surface.

Each cup is made by hand in Mexico, with slight variations in shape, color, surface, and finish. These differences are part of the character of the piece and make each cup unique.

Material Note

Each clay object is handmade and fired in an outdoor oven. Small cracks, color variation, burn marks, ash residue, and surface irregularities may naturally occur during the firing process.

Because fire and wind can make one side of the oven hotter than another, tonal shifts and darker marks are expected. Small traces on the surface may come from ash, wood, or plant material touching the piece during firing.

These details are not considered defects. They are part of the life of the object and the process by which it is made.

Care

Hand wash gently and dry immediately. Do not soak. Do not place in the dishwasher or microwave. Avoid abrasive cleaners, sudden temperature changes, and prolonged exposure to very hot liquids.
